Car ploughs through bank window

Two people suffered minor injuries when a car went through the front window of a bank in Birmingham city centre.

The car went through the plate glass window at the Indian bank ICICI, in Colemore Row, after hitting a large plant pot, the ambulance service said.

A 32-year-old man, believed to be working at the bank, was sitting on a sofa inside and suffered a minor eye injury, a service spokesman said.

The 57-year-old man driving the car suffered a slight head injury.

The spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said the smashed window had "narrowly missed" the bank employee.

Both men were taken to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
