Men use JCB in attempted robbery

Police want to trace several men who tried to steal a cash machine using a JCB digger.

The offenders drove to the machine at a Texaco service station in Kingstanding Road, Birmingham, in the digger and successfully removed it from a wall.

The men left empty-handed in a BMW car, leaving the cash machine and the JCB at the scene, police said.

Any witnesses to the attempted theft, which happened at about 1250 BST on Friday, are asked to contact police.
