Khyra died in May 2008
A man accused of starving his partner's seven-year-old daughter to death has admitted five counts of child cruelty.
Junaid Abuhamza, who denies the murder of Khyra Ishaq, pleaded guilty to cruelty charges relating to five other children at Birmingham Crown Court.
Mr Abuhamza, 30, and Khyra's mother, Angela Gordon, 34, of Handsworth, Birmingham, are both accused of the murder of Khyra in May 2008.
Ms Gordon denies murder and five counts of child cruelty.
Khyra was pronounced dead after paramedics were called to her home.
Mr Abuhamza and Ms Gordon, both of Leyton Road, are expected to go on trial on Thursday when a panel of jurors is due to be sworn in.
