One of the new interactive displays shows a technique called "legging"

A new 10m exhibition which allows visitors to have a go at 19th Century canal transportation has opened at the Black Country Living Museum.

The Dudley museum has installed a feature showing an old technique called "legging".

People would lie across the top of canal boats and move the vessels along by using their feet to push them through tunnels.

Interactive models of a mine and steam engine have also been introduced.
