A 27-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a man whose body parts were found in a West Midlands canal.

Dwayne Walker of Eastfield Grove, Wolverhampton, was remanded in custody after a hearing at Walsall Magistrates' Court.

He is accused of killing David Daly, 31, of Heath Town, Wolverhampton, whose remains were found near Cannock Road on March 30 following a three-day search.

Mr Walker will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on February 27.

A preliminary hearing at the same court will take place on December 12 in his absence.

A 28-year-old man, who was arrested by police investigating Mr Daly's death, appeared before Walsall magistrates on Thursday accused of perverting the course of justice.
