Woman trampled in horse carriage

A woman has been taken to hospital after being trampled in a horse carriage on a motorway.

Ambulance crews were called to the westbound carriageway of the M54, between junctions one and two, near Wolverhampton earlier.

The woman, thought to be in her 30s, had suffered head and chest injuries, a suspected broken jaw and several broken ribs.

She was taken to New Cross Hospital for treatment.
