Man is sentenced over 1996 murder

A 42-year-old man has been jailed for murdering a man who was found injured in a front garden 12 years ago.

Andrew Reeves, of Brownhills, Walsall, was given a life sentence and told he would serve a minimum of 12 years at Birmingham Crown Court.

Darryl Cowles, 35, was found outside a house on Ogley Road, Walsall, in the West Midlands, on 6 July 1996.

He died in hospital as a result of his injuries six days later. Reeves was found guilty of murder on Wednesday.
