School fight goes to Westminster

Parents and pupils opposing plans to close a primary school in the West Midlands are travelling to the Houses of Parliament.

Solihull Borough Council has said Kingfisher Primary School will close at the end of the academic year.

It will merge with nearby Bosworth Wood school because of the falling number of students in the area, the council said.

Parents hope to persuade Schools Minister Jim Knight that pupil numbers will rise and the school should remain.
