A funeral service has been held for a soldier killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.

Trooper James Munday, 21, from Birmingham, died in a blast while he was on a routine patrol in Helmand Province on October 15.

His funeral took place at St Peter and Paul's Church in Coleshill, Warwickshire.

Earlier, hundreds of his colleagues gathered at Camp Bastion for a sunset vigil to pay their final respects.

Trooper Munday served with D Squadron of the Household Cavalry and had previously served alongside Princes William and Harry.
