Victim chased and stabbed by mob

A man was left with multiple stab wounds after being set upon by a group of people in a West Midlands street.

The 42-year-old was seen running from the direction of Walsall town centre towards the junction of Wednesbury Road and Corporation Street on Sunday night.

He was then attacked by a number of people resulting in him receiving multiple stab wounds, police said.

He was taken to hospital where is is reported to be in a "serious" condition.

Wednesbury Road has been sealed off while forensic inquiries take place and police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
