Engineering firm to axe 130 jobs

Bolton Brass
The firm said it had lost one of its main accounts

A Black Country engineering firm is to make about two thirds of its staff redundant.

Bolton Brass, of Aldridge, said about 130 workers would be axed because of what it described as a "dramatic downturn in orders".

The union Unite said the job losses would be a bad blow for the area.

The company said it had lost one of its main accounts which had decided to switch manufacturing from the UK to China to cut costs.
