Man stabbed in chest and stomach

A man is in hospital in a "poorly" condition after being stabbed several times.

West Midlands Police said the 25-year-old was stabbed in the chest, stomach and face after being involved in an altercation in Wolverhampton.

The incident took place in Aldersley Road during Saturday night. The injured man ran from the scene and was later taken to hospital where he remains.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Driver helped

Police said the injured man was first helped by a passing motorist who dropped him close to the Bhela Newsagents, in Aldersley Road.

An ambulance was called and the man was taken to New Cross Hospital where his condition is described as "poorly but stable".

Police would like to trace the motorist who helped him and who was driving a blue car.
