Murdered man identified by police

Police have urged anyone with information to contact them

A man murdered in Birmingham has been identified.

Patrick Mellard, who was 33, died in hospital after being stabbed in Orchards Way, in the Balsall Heath area of the city, on Wednesday evening.

Three men are being questioned on suspicion of murdering Mr Mellard, who was from Balsall Heath.

Two women are also being questioned on suspicion of assisting an offender. All those arrested are aged between 25 and 55, West Midlands Police said.

Anyone with information about Mr Mellard's death has been asked to contact detectives.
