Murder probe over canal remains

A murder investigation has been launched after detectives identified human remains found in a canal as those of a missing man.

The remains of David Daly, 31, were found near Cannock Road, Wolverhampton, on 30 March. He was reported missing from his Darlaston home on 8 December.

A post-mortem examination has taken place but investigations are continuing to establish the cause of death.

Police urged anyone with information to contact them.

Det Mark Griffiths, of West Midlands Police, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who had any knowledge of David's whereabouts since early December last year."
