Almost all the luxury cars stolen from a dealership have now been recovered.

Ten vehicles - worth £350,000 - were taken from Extreme UK Ltd in Lye, in the Black Country, at the weekend after the firm's alarm system failed.

The haul included a Lamborghini Gallardo, a Porsche 911, two Subaru Imprezas, three Mitsubish Evolutions and a Renault Clio V6.

Seven cars have been found. One, a Mitsubishi, was clocked going through a red light at more than 100mph.

The thieves smashed through steel shutters at the dealership and spent more than two hours taking the vehicles.

'Unbelievably rare'

Some of the cars were fitted with tracking devices and most of the ones so far recovered were located in the Black Country, West Midlands Police said.

Most belonged to the dealer but one had been brought in by a customer for a service.

"One of the missing cars was a very rare Mitsubishi Evolution FQ 400," said James Challis, from Extreme UK Ltd.

"It's one of only 100 cars of its type. It was found locally running a red light at over 100 mph."

Another Mitsubishi taken in the robbery has been described as "unbelievably rare".

"It's one of 50 Mitsubishi Evolution 6 Tommy Makinen editions in bright red, just unbelievably rare, very low mileage and in an immaculate condition," Mr Challis added.

"The car is irreplaceable and to some degree priceless."
