Methadone is used to assist heroin users back to normal lives
A two-year-old boy has died and his two brothers are being treated in hospital after they consumed the drug methadone in Birmingham.

The boy was taken to hospital last week but doctors were unable to save him.

His brothers, one aged three and the other three-months-old, are also being treated for methadone poisoning, a hospital spokesman said.

Methadone is given to heroin addicts to help wean them off their addiction to the drug.
