Security guard injured in robbery
A security guard has been injured in a robbery at a Black Country supermarket.

He suffered neck injuries after being assaulted with an unknown weapon during the robbery at the Co-op in Liskeard Road, Walsall, at Friday lunchtime.

Some customers were in the shop at the time of the robbery, but none were hurt, West Midlands Police said.

Police said three Asian men with their faces covered stole a large amount of money. They are believed to have escaped in a waiting blue Peugeot 307.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the incident.

The security guard was taken to hospital after the attack, and was later released, police added.
