Brewery wins award for its beer
A Black Country beer has been named one of the best in the region.

Dragon Smoke Stout, made by the Beowulf Brewing Company in Brownhills, Walsall, has been awarded a bronze medal by the Campaign for Real Ale.

The awards are to be presented at the Barton Arms in Aston, Birmingham, on Saturday.

Brewer Phil Bennett said it was a good area for making beer and believed the water quality in the region could be among the reasons for its success. `

Mr Bennett said: "There's an awful lot of small growers and there's an awful lot of quality growers around, in the whole of the Midlands, but in the West Midlands in particular.

"Maybe it's the water that's very good. The water certainly suits the dark beers that I produce."
