Man stabbed to death outside club
Stabbing scene
The crime scene has been investigated
A 24-year-old man has died after being stabbed a number of times outside a social club after a Christmas party.

West Midlands Police said officers were called to the car park of Ruskin Hall, Aston, Birmingham, about 0300 GMT on Thursday following reports of disorder.

The man was taken to hospital where he died a short time later. A post-mortem examination showed he had been stabbed several times.

Police want to hear from anyone in the hall in the early hours of Thursday.

It is unclear whether the man, who lived locally, attended the party.

Det Ch Insp Steve Bimson, of West Midlands Police, said: "This was just a Christmas party that had been arranged by the people who run the club.

"I'm not sure yet why the victim was in this area and whether he was going to that function or not.

"But from what I can tell the function was a perfectly well-run function and it appears to me a nice club."

He said the people who ran the club were "shocked" by the incident and sent their condolences to the man's family.
