The family and friends of a man who was swept to his death in a flash flood in Thailand have attended his funeral.

John Cullen, 24, from Solihull, was one of eight people who died during a cave expedition on 13 October. His fiancee, Helena Carroll, was the only survivor.

Mr Cullen's funeral was held at St George and St Teresa church, Solihull.

Six tourists and two Thai guides drowned when the cave in Khao Sok national park flooded on 13 October.

Twenty-one-year-old Miss Carroll, also from Solihull, climbed up to a ledge and waited for 16 hours in the dark before being rescued.

The couple were one month into a year-long overseas trip when they were caught up in the floods.
