Man in court after body discovery

Roads around the area were shut after the discovery

A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the discovery of a man's body in a city centre.

The body was found in Salop Street in Wolverhampton during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Jason Perks, 36, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody when he appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court.

Police were still trying to identify the dead man and awaiting the results of forensic tests.
