Comedian Lenny Henry has been performing on stage in his home town of Dudley for the first time.

He brought his one-man stand-up show Lenny Henry: Where You From to the Concert Hall this week.

He said the "moving" experience was "not a normal gig", and he said he felt an outpouring of affection from the audience.

Lenny is also supporting Dudley's celebrations for Black History Month which is running through October.

He said his mother had arrived in Britain just after the Windrush and she had experienced some tough times.

She became part of the community and has a care home named after her in Dudley.

"I think it's wonderful that Dudley's acknowledging this (Black History Month) and that's why I'm behind it," he said.

Wednesday was the last of Lenny three shows at Dudley Concert Hall, but he will be back at the end of November for the final night of his tour.
