Thousands mark scout centenary
Parade in Birmingham
Youngsters paraded to mark the centenary
Thousands of scouts have marched through Birmingham to celebrate their centenary.

The parade on Sunday ended in Centenary Square and youngsters reaffirmed their pledges to the patron saint of the Scout Association, St George.

The movement was founded by Robert Baden-Powell, who held the first scout camp on Brownsea Island, Dorset, in 1907.

This summer the island is expected to be the focus of more celebrations.
