A teacher who moved a vulnerable 13-year-old girl into his home has been jailed for more than three years.
Kenneth Paskin, 59, a teacher at Warley High School, also used his position as a netball coach to groom another teenager, Birmingham Crown Court heard.
He was arrested in January 2006 after neighbours spotted he was sharing his home in Coseley with a schoolgirl.
Paskin had admitted abduction, sexual activity with a child and taking and possessing indecent images of children.
Prosecutor Bernard Linneman told the court that the father-of-two had been working as a teacher in Warley for nine years at the time of his arrest and had been a netball coach and umpire for about 30 years.
The girl had been staying with him from about September 2005 until his arrest, the court heard.
"Neighbours had heard the sound of a girl screeching, high-pitched laughing and running noises as if people were chasing each other.
"They had also seen her and the defendant with their arms round each other," said Mr Linneman.
Paskin had faced allegations of having sex with the schoolgirl, but was sentenced on the basis that he had groped her on one occasion, after the more serious charges were allowed to lie on the file.
The court heard that her mother, who had difficulties of her own, had consented for her daughter to live with Paskin, although she knew nothing of their illicit relationship.
'Unfit to teach'
The abduction charge related to a meeting between the teacher and the 13-year-old which took place after he was freed on bail following his initial arrest.
Indecent pictures of a second teenager, a 15-year-old would-be model, were found on display on a staircase by police who raided the teacher's house.
Jailing him for three years and three months, Judge Nicholas Webb said twice-married Paskin, of Langley Avenue, had "inveigled" his way into the affections of his victims, leaving them to deal with psychological problems.
Judge Webb told him: "My conclusion is that you are obsessed with the sexuality of young girls in their early teens.
"You are wholly unfit to teach them or mentor them in any way - you simply fail to recognise the scale of the problem which you have."
Paskin was also placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life.
