Service remembers shooting victim
Meshack Tesfa Bernard-Brown
Mr Bernard-Brown died in a possible revenge attack
A man who was shot dead while celebrating his 20th birthday has been remembered at a church service.

Meshack Bernard-Brown was shot in Melbourne Avenue, Newtown, on Monday.

Police are keeping an open mind about whether it is linked to an incident on Thursday, in which a gun was fired at two shopkeepers in Lozells.

A man held on suspicion of murdering Mr Bernard-Brown has been released without charge. The victim was remembered at St Paul's and St Silas in Lozells.

Mr Bernard-Brown was shot dead in a possible revenge attack, say police.

Just hours before Mr Bernard-Brown's death, two men were attacked, one with a machete and the other was stabbed in the groin.

Two people arrested after a gun was fired at the shopkeepers in Nursery Road, Lozells, on Thursday have been released on bail.

An 18-year-old woman from Chelmsley Wood and a 22-year-old man from Erdington were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rob after what appeared to be a ball bearing or pellet gun was fired at the two staff.
