Inquest on hanged mother and sons
Policeman at the scene
No-one has been arrested in connection with the deaths
An inquest has been opened into the death of a mother and her two sons found hanged at their Birmingham home.

The bodies of Musamat Mumtahana, 22, two-year-old Raheem Miah and Nahim Miah, one, were found at an address in Handsworth, last week.

Post-mortem examinations confirmed they died by hanging. No-one else is being hunted in connection with the deaths.

Father and husband Shuhal Miah, 26, who is thought to have found the bodies, attended the hearing.

He confirmed his wife was born in Bangladesh in 1984 and that his two sons were born in Birmingham.

'Most tragic loss'

Birmingham's deputy coroner Christopher Ball said there were no police objections to the bodies being released for the funeral.

He adjourned the hearing to a date yet to be fixed.

Mr Miah released a statement following their deaths saying: "I have suffered the most tragic loss that anyone could imagine, this being the deaths of my wife and my two beautiful children.

"My wife was the most beautiful, gentle person and my two beautiful sons were my pride and joy who had their whole lives to live for, sadly this is now not to be."
