Kerry Neary said the dog initially went to bite her face

The mother of a girl who was mauled by a Rottweiler in a Birmingham park has called for the dog to be put down.
Kerry Neary, 12, needed 30 stitches after she was "thrown around like a rag doll" when the dog bit her right arm as she rollerbladed in Bluebell Park.
Her mother Michelle Davies, 34, of Chelmsley Wood, said she feared another child might be attacked by the dog, which is owned by a friend of Kerry.
West Midlands Police said it was investigating the attack.

He has got the taste for blood now and there are lots of children around here

Kerry said of the attack: "He went to go for my face but I put my arm up to protect myself and he just grabbed my arm and I fell to the floor."
Miss Davies, who did not witness the attack on 16 September, said: "I have been told it was swishing her around its head, backwards and forwards.
"I wanted the dog put down there and then. It just attacked her out of the blue."
The dog is owned by the family of a friend of Kerry

The mother-of-two stressed that she was a dog lover and did not blame the dog itself for the incident.
But she added: "He has got the taste for blood now and there are lots of children around here."
A police spokesman said: "We received a report from a woman on 18 September that her daughter had been attacked by a dog on 16 September.
"The girl was treated in hospital for arm injuries and the incident is being treated as someone having a dog out of control in a public place."
