Man dies in industrial accident
A man has died following an industrial accident in the Black Country.

Phillip Gough, 43, died at the scene of the accident at the Black Country Environment Services in Oldbury.

The father-of-three was hit by a steel bar being carried by a crane at the recycling plant on the Union Road Industrial Estate, police have said.

Mr Gough was in charge of the site, which has closed for three days. The Health and Safety Executive has begun an investigation into the incident.

Mr Gough was working on a conveyor belt 25ft in the air when a steel bar being carried by a nearby crane swung and hit him, police said.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place.
