Poor weather causes tram delays
Commuters faced rush hour delays after bad weather over the weekend damaged overhead power lines on the Metro in the West Midlands.

The line was damaged in the Handsworth area on Sunday affecting services on Midlands Metro Line One.

Services starting in Wolverhampton were running only as far as West Bromwich and back. There was no through service to Birmingham.

A shuttle service is operating between Winson Green and Birmingham.

A Metro spokesman said: "Power to the section near West Bromwich has had to be cut whilst engineers work to restore the overhead line.

"Travel Midland Metro apologises to its customers for the inconvenience caused."
