Man shot dead outside city club
A man has died after being shot five times outside a Birmingham nightclub.

Fifty officers have been drafted in to investigate the killing of Andrew Huntley, which happened outside Air in Digbeth in the early hours of Saturday.

Post-mortem tests showed Mr Huntley, 32, a Jamaican national living in Smethwick, in the West Midlands, died of gunshot wounds to the head.

A spokesman said it was not a random attack but there was no evidence it was gang-related.

It is not thought the father-of-two had been inside the club, which was leased out privately on Friday night.

A large entertainment event was being held at the venue, and officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.

It is the first fatal shooting in the city this year.
