A body found in a drain is that of missing six-month-old Troy Simpson, police have confirmed.

Officers had been searching for Troy Simpson who went missing overnight on Monday from his home in Smethwick in the West Midlands.

Two women, aged 17 and 47, and a 20-year-old man were arrested on Wednesday and are still being questioned by police over the matter.

On Thursday, a 27-year-old man was released without charge.

Police divers

Some of the people being questioned are related to Troy.

The baby was said to have last been seen by the family on Monday night when he was put to bed.

He was reported missing by his grandmother the next day.

Police appealed on Wednesday for the public's help in finding the youngster.

Wasteland off Church Road, yards from his family home, was cordoned off and the area treated as a crime scene.

Police divers were seen entering a brook and later plastic sheeting was used to screen off part of the area.

Some residents of nearby Dorothy Road were told they could not return to their homes.
