City to get new health services
New GP surgeries, health centres and clinics are to open in Wolverhampton.

The city is one of only six areas in the country to benefit from millions of pounds of government investment.

Wolverhampton will get a share of £270m from the NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust programme which aims to help primary care trusts cut waiting lists.

The Department of Health said rather than replacing outdated facilities, the new buildings will offer services traditionally only found in hospitals.

Specific details have not yet been released but the new services are expected to open over the next 12 months.
