A record number of shoppers visited Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre over the festive period.
The Bullring was built at a cost of more than £500m
More than 1.1m people went there between 18 December and Christmas Eve.
General manager Tim Walley said: "It's been well reported that retailing has had a very tough year but Bullring has continued to buck the trend."
The figures compare to 1.01m shoppers in the same period last year. The £500m Bullring, which includes the landmark Selfridges building, opened in 2003.
