New radiotherapy unit is opened
An eight-year-old child from Worcestershire is to officially open a £150,000 radiotherapy unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Francis Wormington, who lives in Redditch, has had operations to remove two brain tumours.

Children will have a "cheerful and light play area" to visit when they come for treatment, the hospital said.

The project has taken 18 months to come to fruition and the facilities have been set up over 10 weeks.

The official opening takes place on Tuesday.
