Stabbed pay phone victim named
A man who died after being stabbed in Birmingham as he made a phone call, has been named.

Donavon Anthony Vincent Gayle, 25, was knifed on Monday by his attacker, who had pulled up in a car next to the kiosk on Heathfield Road, Lozells.

The victim, who is from the city, ran to nearby Finch Road, where he collapsed. He died in hospital.

Det Ch Insp Keith Wilson, who is leading the investigation, said the motive for the stabbing was unclear.

The man responsible for the attack had a female passenger in the front seat and drove off in the direction of Villa Road.

A post-mortem examination concluded Mr Gayle victim died as a result of stab wounds.

House-to-house inquiries are continuing in the area.
