Bollywood inspires fitness class
The magic of Bollywood is being used to create fitness classes in a bid to entice more Asian women into the gym.

The hour-long sessions are similar to traditional aerobics but use music and moves from Indian films.

Trained dancer Aanika Chopra, from New Dheli, will take beginners through their paces at classes in Birmingham, Coventry and Leamington Spa.

She said: "It's a way to attract ladies from Asian communities who can't relate to the gym atmosphere."

Around 50 women and girls have taken up the classes, three of which are run at Fitness First gyms in Birmingham and Coventry.

The cardio-vascular workout is medium impact and is also designed to aid balance and posture.

Ms Chopra added: "Since Bollywood is becoming more of a household name, I'm also getting a lot of interest from English girls."
