Man 'decapitated female parrot'
A man has appeared in court accused of pulling the head off a pet parrot at his home in Wolverhampton.

Paul Pugh, from Low Hill, was charged under the Protection of Animals Act for causing unnecessary suffering to the female bird.

Mr Pugh is alleged to have twisted and pulled the head from the Senegal parrot, called Baby, in February.

He did not enter a plea to the charge which was brought by the RSPCA at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court.

The case was adjourned until a further hearing on 28 June and Mr Pugh was given unconditional bail.
