A radio presenter died of head injuries when he confronted burglars at his home in Birmingham and tried to chase their getaway car, a court has heard.
Heart FM DJ Tushar Makwana, 37, was thrown to the ground in Wasperton Way, Castle Bromwich as he chased their car, Leicester Crown Court was told.
The award-winning presenter died three days after the attack on 9 February.
Brett Frewin, Matthew Jeffrey, Michael McGuire and Ashley Cooksey all deny the manslaughter of Mr Makwana.
The court heard Mr Makwana chased the burglars who had targeted his BMW car and had kicked the front door of his home to steal the keys to the vehicle in the early hours of Monday morning.

He tried to open the door of the thieves' getaway car, a Citroen C5, as it drove away but fell to the ground suffering serious head injuries.
He died in hospital on 12 February.
The prosecution told the court that the four defendants were involved in a number of break-ins on the night of Sunday 8 February until early the following morning in the Sutton Coldfield area of Birmingham.
Brett Frewin, 17, has pleaded guilty to two charges of burglary.
Matthew Jeffrey, also 17, has pleaded guilty to robbery and two counts of burglary.
Michael McGuire, 18, has denied one charge of burglary and another of robbery while Ashley Cooksey, also 18 has denied two counts of burglary.
All four deny the manslaughter of the radio presenter.
The trial continues.
