Tushar Makwana and family
The DJ died three days after being injured on his doorstep
Three 17-year-olds have been remanded in custody charged with the manslaughter of West Midlands radio presenter Tushar Makwana.

The defendants, all male, aged 17 and from Castle Vale, Birmingham, are also accused of burgling Mr Makwana's home.

The 37-year-old DJ at Heart FM died on 12 February, three days after being hurt outside his house in Castle Vale.

The youths, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due to reappear at Solihull Youth Court on 21 June.

They are also charged with burgling two addresses in Sutton Coldfield and another home in Erdington, Birmingham, on 8 and 9 February.

Mr Makwana, from Wasperton Close, was found on the street by his wife Deepika.

The father-of-three is thought to have been struck by a vehicle outside his home as he confronted a group of youths.

A fourth 17-year-old, who is also accused of unlawful killing and three counts of burglary, is due to appear before the same court on Thursday.
