A traveller has been jailed for nine years for his part in a number of attacks on elderly people.
Johnny Doran, 23, was part of a gang who conspired to rob a number of people at their homes across the West Midlands.
He admitted one charge of conspiracy to rob which covered 13 separate offences.
One of the incidents involved 84-year-old Kenneth Pritchard, who died after being attacked in front of his wife at his Wolverhampton flat in May 2002.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Pritchard, a retired factory worker, died of heart failure believed to have been brought on by stress.
Doran was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court sitting at the Waterfront in Brierley Hill, Dudley, on Thursday.
Police are still hunting the other gang members.
