Police seek car in fatal shooting
Azmat Yaqub
Azmat Yaqub, 35, was shot dead
Police investigating a fatal shooting in a gym are trying to trace a car.

Azmat Yaqub, 35, was pronounced dead at Chic Physique Health and Fitness Gymnasium in, Sparkhill, Birmingham, shortly after being found on Thursday.

It is thought one or two gunmen burst into the building, firing about 10 shots. Police want to trace a light-coloured car seen in the area.

A post-mortem examination revealed the victim, from Yardley, died of multiple gunshot wounds to his head and chest.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said no weapons had been found at the scene of the attack.

The shooting happened in the weights room next to an area where a group of youngsters were having a kick-boxing class , but no one else was injured.

It was revealed that Mr Yaqub had survived another assassination attempt when he was injured in a drive-by shooting in Birmingham in March last year.

One of his friends, 30-year-old Shaham Ali, was killed when a group of Asian men gunned him down during what was said to be a dispute between factions of the Birmingham Central Mosque, Europe's largest Islamic centre.
