Hughes denies road death charge
Lee Hughes
Lee Hughes appeared in court to deny the charge
West Bromwich Albion striker Lee Hughes has denied causing death by dangerous driving.

The 27-year-old footballer appeared at Coventry Crown Court on Friday.

The charge against Mr Hughes relates to a crash involving a silver Mercedes CL 55 coupe and a Renault Megane in Meriden last November.

Douglas Graham, 56, of Eastern Green, Coventry, died after being injured in the crash.

He had been travelling in a back seat in the Megane.

Mr Hughes, of Meriden, Warwickshire, was remanded on conditional bail for a trial date yet to be confirmed.
