Around 300 chocolate factory workers at Cadbury in Birmingham are to lose their jobs, the company has announced.
A company statement said Cadbury Trebor Bassett are planning the cuts over the next two years through voluntary redundancies.
The introduction of new technology, increased flexible working and a need to remain competitive has led to the decision, the statement said.
More than £25 million has been invested at the Bournville plant over the past two years.
Cadbury bosses say further investment is planned over the next two years.
Discussions will take place with the workforce in the new year.
