The administrators of a troubled West Midlands steel group say they have had a considerable amount of interest from firms wanting to take over the business.
David Fabb Holdings Limited owns 12 companies that employ 570 people across the Black Country and Shropshire.
The jobs looked under threat when the group fell into the hands of administrators Deloitte and Touche (D&T).
But D&T said it had received more than 200 enquiries in the past two weeks alone.
It is now hoped that many of the 12 companies in the group will be sold as going concerns.
Greg Mitchell, senior manager of D&T, said there have so far been more than 230 enquiries.
"While this number is not unusual because effectively we have 12 businesses, it is quite a sizeable amount and at the moment there is a lot of interest.
"It is an encouraging number and there has been an encouraging response from the customers and suppliers."
He added: "The interest is split across all the businesses. We have had interest in the group as a whole and also from people looking at individual businesses or two
and three firms."
