Police later found her mobile phone on a seat in Riverside Park, near to the all-weather football pitches.

Ms Chambers, 30, is believed to have left a pub in Chester-le-Street before going to the park on Tuesday evening.

Police say the underwater search will resume on Monday.

Ms Chambers, 30, of The Anchorage, Chester-le-Street is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of slim to medium build with dark bobbed brown hair.

She was wearing a grey hooded top, black leggings and dark Ugg boots.

Police have renewed their appeal for information relating to Ms Chambers's disappearance.

They have urged anyone who was in Riverside Park at about 2230 GMT on Tuesday to get in touch with the police.
