Almost 80 jobs in County Durham are under threat after a door manufacture called in administrators. Bowburn Limited in Bowburn, near Durham, makes garage doors and was bought by the Cardale Group in January. But Northamptonshire-based Cardale called in administrators on Wednesday after revealing financial problems. Administrators RSM Bentley Jennison said it was hoped a buyer could be found for the Bowburn plant, which employs 78 people. Going concern Administrator Fred Satow said that the group had suffered losses for a number of years and that 29 jobs were lost at Bowburn earlier this year. But he said he was still optimistic a buyer would be found to take on the plant as a going concern. He said: "The factory is an up-to-date, modern, computerised facility, which is continuing to trade in administration. "We have already had some expressions of interest and we are hoping a buyer can be found within the next few weeks." The Cardale Group is based at Brackley and also has manufacturing sites at Luton, Scunthorpe and Verwood in Dorset, as well as having a distribution depot in Glasgow.
