A 15-year-old girl has been charged with cultivating cannabis valued at £750,000 at a house in Sunderland. Up to 1,500 plants, along with sophisticated lighting and ventilation equipment, were found at the property in Trimdon Street on Tuesday. Northumbria Police said the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested near the property. She was remanded into local authority custody by Sunderland magistrates to appear in court again on 29 May.
