Tyre slash attacks investigated

Vandals slashed the tyres of 35 cars parked on a Sunderland estate.

The damaged vehicles were parked in Toronto Road, Tilbury Road, Telford Road and Tuscan Road, in the Thorney Close area.

Northumbria Police said it had increased its patrols following the attacks on Wednesday morning.

Acting Insp Ken Robinson, of Sunderland West Neighbourhood Policing Team, said house-to-house inquiries were being carried out.
