Man remanded over armed robberies

A 27-year-old man has appeared before magistrates in County Durham, accused of firearms offences and robbery.

Andrew Cattermull, from Carlton Moor Crescent, Darlington, was charged in connection with three armed robberies in the town.

A man was robbed at knifepoint on 9 January and on 12 January a man was robbed at gunpoint. On the same day an armed man stole cash at a post office.

Mr Cattermull was remanded to appear at Teesside Crown Court on 23 January.
