Cannabis plants found in bedroom

Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £25,000 have been found during a raid in County Durham.

Police discovered a large quantity of mature plants, plus sophisticated growing equipment, in the bedroom of a house in Quinn Crescent, Wingate.

A 25-year-old man is being sought by police in connection with cultivation of the drug and abstraction of electricity from the property.

The raid was the result of information supplied by the local community.
